The west coast is known for its ideal surfing conditions, you will find good waves all year round. The more calm water of the south coast is perfect for a day of Stand Up Paddling.
The Best Surf Spots
Surfing is a popular and fast growing sport in the Algarve. In the vicinity of Monte Rosa there are numerous well known surf spots. Praia do Amado, Arrifana and Sagres are some examples of popular spots. But more and more surfers also find their way to the less know beaches, such as Praia da Cordoama, Praia Do Castelejo and Praia do Zavial. Are you an experienced surfer, but you don’t know your way in the Algarve? A Surf Safari or private surf coach is the best way to explore the best spots in the area.
Surf Lessons
The south-west of Portugal is not only a popular destination for experienced surfers, it’s also an ideal place to catch your very first waves. When you book a day of surfing lessons, the surf school will take you to the best possible spot for your level. You will be accompanied by experienced surf instructors and will have about 3 to 4 hours of water time. There are lessons for all ages and every level. The Surf Day includes transportation, lunch, surfboard and wetsuit.

Stand Up Paddle (SUP)
Explore the beautiful coastline and caves of Lagos on a SUP-board. Supping – Stand Up Paddling – is becoming increasingly popular. Probably because everyone, with a little sense of balance, can do it! The tours include equipment, SUP instruction by an experienced instructors and pictures. In the early moring, when it’s still quiet on the water, it’s a beautiful experience. In addition to the tour in Lagos, you can also paddle down the Aljezur River or discover the ‘Barragem da Bravura’.
