Team Monte Rosa

Sandra is the founder of the Monte Rosa guesthouse. Born in Holland in 1954 she started her professional career as a teacher for children with impaired hearing. In 1984 she moved to Portugal, where she created a succesfull health food restaurant and juice bar in Lagos. In 1993 she moved, with 3 years old daughter Arianne, to the countryside and commenced the Monte Rosa project. With the ethos that a healthy life style and open and friendly communication should be key principles for her guesthouse, Sandra created Monte Rosa to what it is now. She has a great interest in environmental matters and personal development. While running the guesthouse she also trained herself in hypnotherapy and became a nutricinist. Sandra is a representative for the Findhorn Community in Scotland, a place that has always inspired her.

Theo came to Monte Rosa 2011, after a wonderful 39 year career in education in Holland. He and Sandra met in 1976, when they were colleagues at a school for children with learing and education problems. After not having seen one another for a period of 35 years they met again in 2011 and became a couple. With a warm, witty and charismatic personality Theo has proven to be very versatile at Monte Rosa, always willingly to help with any task that needs attention. His favourite job is working in the vegetable garden. Theo loves cycling on his race bike and created some nice tours for the Monte Rosa guests. He also like to play tennis and invites you for a game.

(1990) is the daughter of Sandra. From her third year she lived on Monte Rosa and she saw how a small pension net grew into a large holiday park. Arianne pledged her heart to Lisbon, where she studied communication, marketing and graphic design / design. She now has a nice job at a start-up of a fashionable Portuguese shoe brand. Since April 2017, it occupies a stylish accommodation in the beautiful historic center of Lisbon, from which it rents the front 3-room apartment. This allows our guests to combine their holidays with a cultural stay in the heart of Lisbon. Arianne is your hostess and can show you around in this charming city.
Pictures of the apartment can be found on our website at `accommodation' and on
